Our story

Supporting Territorians through the unimaginable loss of a child for any reason, from conception to 18.

Amber NT was founded in 1985 by two mothers who lost their children Roxanne and Phillip to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

There was no specialised support in Darwin at the time, and this motivated them to start an organisation that would ensure all Territorians had access to much needed support.

Peta Preo - Amber NT's Chair

"When you lose a child, it's as though the world stops and when it starts again nothing feels the same".

"Navigating this new landscape is challenging in so may ways...We are here for everyone, no matter what your relationship to the child".

Katy Chin - Amber NT's General Manager

"Our Northern Territory families can be geographically separated, so it's important that we're here for each other".
